On November 9th, 2005, suicide bombers entered three hotels in Amman, Jordan, and carried out synchronized detonations. Many innocent people were killed, including Syrian-born filmmaker Mustapha Akkad and his daughter Rima. MT Space founder Majdi Bou-Matar considered Akkad a childhood hero and was devastated by the news of his death. He set about exploring a greater understanding of this incident using theatre. The final product, The Last 15 Seconds, was a collective work by theatre artists in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. The play has received rave reviews and continues to tour.
