Octoberfest is here again in Kitchener Waterloo starting October 9 – 17 2009

Canada’s #1 German or Bavarian Festival runs for 10 days and is just packed with things to do.

Willkommen Platz or Welcome Place is a good start for your Octoberfest. Just off King Street Kitchener, they have souvinirs, maps, event listings, show times for everything that is going on. There are many places to stay around Kitchener but you’ll want to reserve ahead of time as this time of the year things are very booked up.

There is lots of Authentic German food to be had as Kitchener has long time back been settled by German immigrants, so there is still that feel around Kitchener. There are more than one market where you can buy fresh food and meats ( kitchener and St. Jocobs )

There are also lots of performers who come to entertain with all types of music for everyone and there are locations and events every day for families as well as the younger crowd. St Jacobs is nearby for a small tour of an old Mennonite Village with lots of great shopping for a day trip.

Make sure you plan to attend the Thanksgiving Parade on King Street   October 12 2009  starts at 8:30 AM
